Why AR-11 Filing Matters
Federal law requires all non-U.S. citizens to report a change of address to USCIS within 10 days of moving. Failure to file an AR-11 can result in fines, criminal penalties, and negative effects on pending immigration applications.
If you have pending applications (DACA renewal, green card, citizenship), an AR-11 also updates the address on those cases. Missing this step can cause USCIS notices to be sent to your old address — meaning you might miss deadlines, interview notices, or approval letters.
Who Needs to File AR-11?
Every non-citizen in the United States must file within 10 days of moving, including permanent residents, conditional residents, DACA recipients, TPS holders, visa holders, asylum applicants, and anyone with a pending USCIS application.
